Asics Noosa Tri 12 Ladies
Big G Says…
The Noosa Tri range has been designed specifically to cater to the exacting demands of the fast-growing triathlon market. You certainly do not have to be a triathlete to wear a pair, but certain features are incorporated to cater to triathletes requirements. We did not stock the Noosa Tri 11 so I am not competent to comment on the upgrades to that model. What I can do is to compare the features and benefits of the Noosa Tri 12 to the DS Trainer 25 as the two shoes are pretty similar.
One of the more interesting differences is that the mild medial Duomax insert in the FlyteFoam Lyte midsole of the DS Trainer 25 is not evident in the Noosa Tri 12. This means that the Noosa is a pure neutral shoe as opposed to the mild support provided by the DS Trainer 25. Otherwise the midsole and outsoles are exactly the same (see the review for more details).
The main differences that tri-athletes will appreciate come in the upper. The seamless lightweight mesh on the Noosa is more breathable and quick drying. It is barefoot friendly for those who prefer to go sockless. The upper has both a pull tab on the heel and a little loop through the tongue to facilitate a speedier change between bike and run in the transition area. The shoes come fitted with Caterpy elastic laces and a spare set of 'traditional' laces are also supplied.
The brighter more colourful cosmetics of the shoe will certainly stand out in the crowd - so whatever distance is your specialty, this model has been designed to maximise your triathlon performance on the day.
