Asics Cumulus 21 Men
Big G Says…
Some models of shoes change substantially in character from year to year and it is often dangerous to simply buy the next model in the series without understanding what changes have been made. The Brooks Adrenaline is a good example of a shoe that has been subjected to such a dramatic makeover that the current model bears no resemblance to the previously successful models.
The Cumulus had it's dramatic makeover from version 19 to the 20 and more or less fell into the same category, but thankfully after the many improvements made (see Cumulus 20 review), the Cumulus 21 has stayed basically the same. Other than a cosmetic update to the upper, a more padded heel collar, and a slightly different innersole, the shoe is unchanged. As a standard weight stable neutral training shoe, the 21 is a classic.
The cushioning of the mid-sole is right in the middle of the cushioning spectrum...not too soft and not too hard...just like the New Balance 880. A frequently asked question is what is the difference between the Cumulus and the Nimbus. Go read the Nimbus 21 review and the Cumulus 20 review and try to make up your mind which one will suit you best.
