Saucony Ride ISO 2 Ladies
Big G Says…
The Ride has always been a favourite in Saucony's neutral running shoe range and has been especially popular with ladies. In fact, in The Randburg Runner over the last 5 years, Saucony is the only brand where ladies models outsell men. The latest Ride has only a few but significant upgrades from the Ride lSO.
On the upper, the mesh has been upgraded to a slightly stretchy double jacquard mesh which hugs the foot and together with a revised ISO lacing system, locks in foot perfectly into the shoe. The padded collar and the attached tongue work to eliminate any slippage. The PWRFOAM with an EVERUN overlay remain as the midsole component but the depth of the PWRFOAM has been increased by 2mm to improve the cushioning. This combo is responsive enough to handle longer distances. The ride is neither bouncy or marshmallow - somewhere in between.
A change in the outsole too. Saucony is now using crystal rubber under the forefoot which is more durable with better ground feel. lt is also a lighter material and negates the extra weight from the additional PWRFOAM in the midsole. The Tri-flex grooves help disperse pressure over a greater surface area while delivering optimal flex and traction on the forefoot. The 8mm heel/toe drop remains unchanged.
So this is a model that will be particularly popular with ladies. Suitable for neutral to slight supinators, this shoe delivers a dependable and reliable performance and will continue to be a favourite from RWFL ladies to Comrades runners.
