This is Hoka's flagship model. Running in the maximally cushioned Bondi 6 is like running on clouds - soft, smooth and almost effortless.
There have been only minor updates to the Bondi 5 - cushioning (softer), upper (more breathable), heel collar (snugger), outer sole (more rubber) - all just really tweaked.
The 2 layer foam mid-sole is cushy and forgiving but not mushy like some maximalist shoes. lt has one of the highest cushion-to-weight ratios of any shoes on the market. This shoe is remarkably stable for a neutral shoe with such a high stack height, thanks to its wide base and the way the foot is cradled in the midsole material.
The concave rocker design promotes a reliable rolling sensation as the foot transitions from a forefoot strike to the toe-off. The seemingly effortless ride reduces the impact forces that occur as the foot hits the ground. A really good option for daily low intensive training, long slow distance runs or recovery sessions.
