Asics GT 4000 Men
Big G Says…
The GT4000 is the latest in the GT series - Asics stability range. The naming convention in the GT series corresponds with the level of stability and the number of features. It is safe to say that the GT4000 is the most supportive.
This is a stability (anti-pronation) shoe that feels and runs like a neutral shoe. lt has replaced the popular GT3000 and Fortitude and is a PROPER stability shoe. At a very acceptable weight, this model is blessed with a durable outsole, an incredibly comfortable upper fit with amazing responsive cushioning for a stability shoe. But what raises this model up above many of its rivals, is the construction of its stability features. The trusstic guidance device, standard in many Asics stability models, has been extended with an extra stability bar towards the forefoot.
Three densities of midsole cushioning foams are combined creating a balance of cushioning and energy return, but the most important component is the firmer duomax, which extends from the rear-foot through the mid-stance into the forefoot, providing a supportive platform throughout the entire gait cycle, especially 're-supinating' the toe-off for the runner who exhibits late pronation.
So while this is a different shoe from the GT3000 and the Fortitude, there will be no problem to upgrade from either...and expect a substantial improvement in performance, fit and feel.
Asics best GT stability shoe to date? A difficult one...but in my opinion...YES.
