Big G Says…
Runners World has described the Glycerin as a classic. The Cadillac of the Brooks cushioned range of neutral shoes. The name of the game is comfort – plain and simple – premium interior feel, and superior cushioning. Often the next model of a shoe is hardly changed with just a small tweak here and there – but with the Glycerin 16, there are some substantial changes.
The super DNA midsole material has been upgraded to DNA Loft – a cushioned foam with extra air and rubber to enhance the responsiveness and durability even more. The upper features a new jacquard mesh which is more breathable and has improved stretch to facilitate comfort.
The padded tongue and heel collar plus an extra cushy sock liner give a WOW step-in feel. Only the outsole remains little changed with its deep tread pattern and pressure zones to evenly distribute pressure through the heel, mid-foot, and forefoot.
So in summary, many USA reviewers have commented favourably on the responsive cushioning, stylish design and overall comfort. The Glycerin 16 is indeed state of the art as a high mileage neutral cushioned shoe.
