Altra Timp 1.5 Men
Big G Says…
As is the norm with all Altra shoes, the trademark foot shape of the rounded, broader toe- box allows the toes to spread naturally. The original Timp has been improved by increasing the cushioning, improving the flexibility and reducing the weight...all upgrades that allow this shoe to be classified as a road to trail shoe (hybrid). The new Duratread outsole with its aggressive lugs has a stickier rubber compound than the original version. The mesh uppers have also been upgraded to reduce the chance of a blowout.
So if the Olympus is a bit over the top as a trail shoe for you, but you require more underfoot protection than the Lone Peak offers, then the Timp 1.5 could fit the bill perfectly.
